What custom light boxes look like
Production process
Every sign follows the same route through our workshop: dimension drawing, lighting effect design, CNC cutting and assembly, a 48-hour lighting test, then timber-framed crating for export. You approve the drawing before we cut anything, and we send photos or video at each step.

How a light box lights up
A light box is a shallow sealed cabinet: the LED modules sit inside the frame and push light through the printed face. Our boxes also light the side edge, so the shape reads as a solid illuminated object rather than a flat panel — which is what makes a shield or crest look premium.
Dual front + side emission
The face and the edge are lit separately, so the box keeps its depth at night.

High-density modules and a diffuser layer stop hot spots across large faces.
Sealed for outdoors

That is the range our own shield and crest light box projects have landed in over the past year — including crating, air freight, US import duties and final delivery. Four things move the number:
- Size and depth — an oversized shield and a small logo box are different builds
- Illumination type — dual front-and-side emission costs more than a flat face
- Frame and face material — printed acrylic is the baseline; harder profiles and thicker acrylic add cost
- Mounting — raceways, hanging kits and permit drawings are quoted separately when needed

How much do custom light boxes cost?
Most of our shield, crest and logo light box projects land between $750 and $1,900 USD delivered DDP to a US address, including crating, air freight, US import duties and final delivery. Size, depth, illumination type and frame material are what move the number — send your artwork and size for a line-item price.
What is the difference between a light box and channel letters?
A light box is a sealed cabinet with a printed face — the whole shape lights up evenly. Channel letters are individual cut letters, either front-lit or halo-lit. Light boxes give the most even colour and are usually the cheaper option for large logos; channel letters give more depth and a more architectural look.
Can a light box be double-sided?
Yes. We build double-sided boxes with two printed faces and a shared LED cavity, commonly used for hanging signs, aisle markers and cooler walls. Both faces are printed from the same file so colour and artwork match.
Will a light box survive outdoors in rain and heat?
Yes. Frames are powder-coated aluminium with a gasketed face, the LED modules are IP67 sealed, and every box runs a 48-hour continuous burn-in test before crating. We ship to coastal New England and desert California the same way.
How long does manufacturing and delivery take?
Production takes 5 working days after you approve the artwork proof, and DDP air shipping adds 10 to 14 days.
