How long does a custom sign take from order to install? In short: the custom sign timeline is 7–10 working days to build, then 30–45 days by sea or 12–20 days by air to reach your door. Here is the full timeline, stage by stage, so you know exactly what is happening and what you can speed up.

These stages run back-to-back, so a sea-shipped sign usually lands 5–8 weeks after you approve the final drawing. An air-shipped sign lands in about 3–4 weeks. The custom sign timeline is not one single number, because the build is the predictable part and the freight is the part that changes with your destination, the port, and the time of year.
Think of it as three blocks: approval, production, and delivery. Production is the most consistent part, because it happens in our Guangzhou workshop. Delivery has the widest range, because East Coast sea freight takes longer than West Coast, and air is faster but costs more.

Before production starts, you approve a 1:1 CAD drawing. We convert your logo or artwork into a production file, set the exact finished size, and place the mounting points, power supply location, and any raceway or stud pattern. If you send vector artwork and a complete delivery address in the first message, approval usually takes one working day.
If the logo is low resolution or the wall has obstructions, we ask a few questions and revise the drawing, usually one extra day. Sending a vector file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF), the finished size, and a wall photo up front keeps this stage short.
The factory part is the most predictable. After you approve the 1:1 drawing, we move through:
If you already have your artwork and dimensions ready, production starts the moment you approve. If you are still finalising the logo, that adds time before the 7–10 days even begins. A simple storefront sign is usually seven working days; a large multi-face project with dozens of letters can run ten.

After crating, the sign moves into freight. Sea freight is standard for most commercial signs, because a channel letter or light box is heavy and low-cost by volume. Air freight is faster when a store opening date is fixed and the extra speed is worth the extra cost.
Sea freight in our experience lands in about 30–45 days door to door. The West Coast is usually at the faster end, around 25–35 days, while the East Coast can take 40–45 days. Air freight usually lands in 12–20 days. These include final delivery to your address, not just the ocean crossing.
For a full breakdown of what freight costs and what DDP includes, see our shipping and DDP guide. The key point: freight is not a flat number; it depends on volume, weight, destination city, and sea or air.
We quote DDP, which means the price includes the sign, export packing, freight, and the duties and taxes needed to get it to your door. That removes the biggest unknown from the timeline: the sign does not sit in a warehouse while you sort out a customs broker.
You still need to be ready on your side: the driver needs a business address, a contact person, and a working phone number. A missing ZIP code or an unattended dock can add days to the last-mile step.

The cleanest way to plan is backwards: start from the install date, subtract install, freight, and production time to find the latest drawing-approval date.
If that date has already passed, air freight is usually the answer. Send your logo, finished size, and city plus ZIP code, and we will give you the fastest realistic timeline.
Yes, a rush is possible. We can prioritise the job in the production queue and switch the freight to air. Acrylic still needs time to cut, paint, cure, wire, and test, and a sign should not ship before the 48-hour burn-in test is complete. What we can do is remove the waiting time between steps.
Tell us the date you need it by, and we will give you the fastest realistic timeline and the rush price difference.
7–10 working days after you approve the final drawing. This covers cutting, painting, assembly, the 48-hour burn-in test, and crating.
About 5–8 weeks by sea freight, or 3–4 weeks by air freight, including production time.
Because destination matters. West Coast sea freight is usually faster than East Coast sea freight, and air freight is faster than both. Volume, weight, and the shipping season also move the number.
Yes. We can prioritise production and switch to air freight. Send your logo and the date you need it by, and we will tell you the fastest realistic timeline.
Your logo or artwork, the finished size, and your city plus ZIP code. Send those three and we can start the drawing the same day.
